Sharing with a healthcare professional

Find answers about sharing keys, QR codes, and healthcare professionals’ access to your information.

From a request, select “Share my request”, or use “Share my requests” from the + menu and then “Create a new sharing key”. Select the type of healthcare professional, the requests to share and, for each profile, the health information you agree to share. You can choose to appear with your first and last name or a pseudonym.
A key gives access to the requests and health information you selected. It also displays a QR code, a security code, a button to start the discussion, an option to view the shared content and an option to delete the key.
No. The selection of profiles, requests and shared information is fixed. To add or remove an item, delete the key and create a new one.
When a healthcare professional opens the key on their own device using the QR code, their access is limited to 24 hours from the time they open it. The patient’s key remains available until it is deleted and can be used with another healthcare professional. Each new professional access starts its own 24-hour period.
Yes. A key can be reused. For example, if one healthcare professional cannot answer a request, you can show the same key to another professional. Each access opened on a professional’s device is limited to 24 hours from the time it is opened.
Prepare your key before the appointment. Save a screenshot of the QR code and also make a note of the security code. The healthcare professional must have an internet connection to open the key on their device.
Open the sharing key again and make sure the QR code is clearly visible on the screen. The healthcare professional can then try scanning it again.

If the QR code still does not work, you can email the sharing key to the healthcare professional. When asked, also give them the associated security code.

You can also select “Start the discussion” to begin the conversation directly on your device.
Open the relevant sharing key. The security code is shown below the QR code and can be displayed from this page. If you expect to have no internet when sharing, save the QR code in advance and make a note of the security code.
No. The healthcare professional does not need to create an Ansara account.

You can start the discussion directly on your device, or allow them to access the information you chose to share. They can scan your QR code or receive the sharing key by email, then enter the security code you give them.
